EXCELLENT Based on 47 reviews Posted on Connor MVerified The most epic, authentic adventure--period. From the moment I arrived in Khovd, Nurgabat and his team treated me like family. We ate a delicious turkish meal and took a road trip up to Ulgii. From there we switched to a 4WD van and the adventure began -- think dirt roads, open landscapes, mountains in every direction, and in the middle of nowhere: a few homes. Real, kazakh nomadic families, two of which we stayed with. The first was an eagle hunter with 3 golden eagles who took me hunting every day, scaling mountainsides on horseback in search of foxes. On the second day, his son found one and the eagles ate well. I got lucky with the weather, but even if I didn't, I would have loved my time with Rakhimbyek and his family. We drank copious amounts of milk tea, talked about life, the world, and everything in between. I feel like this trip is the definition of cultural immersion, and is really only possible for a short time before it becomes over-touristed and corners are cut. For now at least, you can trust that any tour you take with Nurgabat and his team, you will be cared for and welcomed like family. I left a friend of everyone I met and would love to return to help with the annual migration (in March), which also sounds special. Book this trip, you will not regret it.Posted on Jacob BarnardVerified Amazing Tour Nurgabat was our tour guide whilst we were travelling through the Altai Mountains, and I couldn’t have asked for a better time! He made sure all of our needs were catered for, he told us so much information about nomadic cultures and helped us engage with the locals. We had a laugh with him too and it was genuinely a once in a lifetime experience and Nurgabat helped to make that so!Posted on Jack RVerified This is a journey you will never forget and these are the best people to take you on it. There are no words that can fittingly describe the experience I had on this tour. It feels wrong to even call it just a tour, for ten days me and my friend were taken to the far western reaches of Mongolia, hundreds of miles from paved roads and cityscapes, and we had the time of our lives. The team that run this are unmatched. Our guide was a local man with over ten years experience running not just this trip but trips all over the country in all seasons. Our driver was equally experienced and took us back and forth through valleys and over mountains with ease. Our cook was accommodating to any dietary requirements we might have and never dished up a bad meal.Every person we met on our journey was kind and welcoming, where there were language barriers there was never any problem as our guide was a very adept and attentive translator and helped us communicate with our hosts and hear their fascinating stories. This is a journey truly unlike any other, and me and my friend both agreed that when we return, we wouldn’t book the next trip with anyone else.Posted on Leda FVerified One lifetime adventure in the home of legendary Jenkins Khan An amazing journey to the home of legendary Jenkins Khan! I don't know where to begin with. Breathtaking pictures, hospitable and friendly people, beautiful pictures unique tastes and songs that felt like coming out of an adventure movie! Nurgabat was there for us to make this one lifetime experience happen! I will never forget the time we spend with the local people of western Mongolia and the two days golden eagle festival. From the colorful Gobi dessert to the snowy mountains of western Mongolia this country has mesmerized me through the whole trip. Despite the long distances and difficult terrain Nurgabat made this journey feel comfortable by preparing every last detail for us and overcoming all obstacles.Posted on FarAway22169488526Verified A journey to embrace nature Western Mongolia is a very original place, all over cattle, horses, sheep and eagles, and the landscape is vast, this trip made me feel completely relaxed and physically and mentally returned to nature. The tour guide also took great care of us, everything is based on our opinions, the food is quite abundant, and each meal is very full (besides the electricity required to have own solar panels, and there is no bath for bathing) to Mongolia was originally afraid of high mountain reaction, but the altitude of the journey is gradually rising, so no worries at all. Overall is a pretty comfortable trip.I also came to Mongolia for the first time to experience horse riding, there are 4 to 5 days in the journey, it may be because of the wrong posture or trousers too tight, I feel very uncomfortable, but my friends adapted quickly, and in just a few days mastered the trick to maintain balance immediately. Additionally, the strap to connect the horse strap can be adjusted for length, it is not only an auxiliary tool for riding a horse, the foot must also step on the horse strap at any time, if the length is too long or too short, long riding will make the knees and ankles very painful.Hopefully next time there's a chance to come to Western Mongolia for a self-driving tour!Posted on Maria MVerified Best way to experience Mongolia! It was a unique experience! The trip to western Mongolia it is by itself amazing but Nurgabat helped us to experience it with safety and enjoy every single aspect of it. Staying and sharing every day life with local families, listening traditional music performed just for us, hot delicious food all the time, extra blankets when it was too cold are only a few of the good memories of traveling with them. Nurgabat is super friendly, kind, hospitable, caring. He was almost spoiling us, as he was adapting the program to our needs, to our requests, to the weather and to any emergency conditions.Totaly 1000% recommended!Posted on Loris BVerified Participated in the Eagle Festival... beautiful experience Beautiful experience with my Nugii guide very good punctual, competent expert always available to my needs, one of the best guides ever had my travels and I absolutely recommend it. Thanks again for everythingPosted on Dina SVerified unforgettable journey It's a unforgettable journey with our guide Nurgabat and the team. They are able to handle every situation with great flexibility. For example, make timely adjustments for weather or personal circumstances, and let the trip run even more smoothly.Nurgabat also give us thorough explanations of the local culture. It's a wonderful tour in Altai mountain area and eagle festival.Posted on CharlieVerified Unforgettable wonderful journey We had wonderful trip with Nurgabat and the team to Altai mountain area and eagle festival. He tailored the trip to be more suitable for us and still enjoyed astonishing views. Camping in the white river valley and riding a horse uphill though snowing on the way to see five holy mountains and glaciers was an unforgettable experience. It's more like travelling with friends, chatting, learning and exchanging culture between each other. I highly recommend Nurgabat as the guide if you are interested in western Mongolia.Posted on 君任 許Verified A Journey Beyond Expectations – With the Kind, Caring, and Unforgettable Guide, Nurgabat, and His Team I’m truly glad that I chose Western Mongolia as my travel destination. This is what we were looking for. We went horseback riding and hiking—starting as complete beginners who had never ridden before, we eventually learned to ride on our own. The scenery was breathtaking and majestic. In Bear Valley and Black Valley, our campsites were always next to rivers, with lush green meadows that felt like stepping into a fairytale. It was deeply relaxing for both body and mind. There were also rugged, rocky trails, but the vast landscapes made everything worthwhile. We rode horses for a total of five days, while the remaining days were spent hiking, visiting waterfalls, climbing Malchin Peak (the fourth-highest mountain in Mongolia), meeting a throat singer, spending time with an eagle hunter, and traveling in an old Russian van.Our guide, Nurgabat, arranged everything for us, He cared most about our safety, and at the same time, his kindness and courage to try new things gave us a truly unique journey. There were countless memorable moments—from the magnificent views, to Chef Beku’s unique meals each day, Driver Altu’s excellent driving skills, the horse and camel guides, and the joyful interactions with the local nomadic families. I would love to return someday, this time to explore Central Mongolia with guidance of Nurgabat, and experience more of the eagle hunter’s lifestyle.I truly recommend Nurgabat and his team, his travel agency for anyone who loves to design, or bring yourselves a different Mongolian journey!
