Itinerary

Day 1 Arrive in Ulgii
Upon arrival in Ulgii, the capital of Bayan-Ulgii province, you will meet your local guide and begin your journey into the heart of Western Mongolia. The same day, we start driving toward the stunning Altai Tavan Bogd National Park, known for its dramatic mountain landscapes and rich Kazakh culture. By evening, we set up camp next to Kazakh nomadic families, giving you a unique opportunity to experience their traditional lifestyle and warm hospitality.
- Distance: 6-7 hour drive (200km).
- Meals: Breakfast / Lunch / Dinner
- Accommodation: stay at the local Ger camp or tent
- Altimeter 2400 meters
Day 2 Explore the Tavan Bogd Mountains & Potanin Glacier
After breakfast, we will drive to the Ovoo in the Tavan Bogd Mountains. Following a scenic 10 km drive, you will begin your hike toward the breathtaking 20 km long Potanin Glacier, surrounded by the majestic Five Holy Peaks of Mongolia. From the viewpoint, you will enjoy the best panorama of the glacier, and you’ll even have the chance to walk on it for an unforgettable experience.
Later in the afternoon, we will drive back to the camp, located next to local nomadic families, where you can relax and enjoy the peaceful mountain atmosphere.

Day 3 Khoton & Khurgan Lakes Heart of Nomadic Life
After breakfast, we will drive to Khoton and Khurgan lakes in the Altai Tavan Bogd National Park, where many Kazakh nomads spend their summer. These lakes are crystal clear, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding Altai Mountains and a close look at the region’s fascinating nomadic lifestyle.
In the evening, we will camp just next to the families, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the serene beauty and culture of the area.

Day 4 Horse Trekking & Waterfall Hike
This morning, we will start horse trekking, riding through the wide open valleys where local nomads live. You will then do a short hike to a beautiful waterfall, taking your time to enjoy the stunning views along the way. Because the hike is not long, it’s the perfect opportunity to slow down, appreciate the landscape, and even visit local nomads to experience a different way of life.
After exploring the area, we will return to the same camping spot for a peaceful evening in the Khoton and Khurgan lakes .

Day 5. Start driving back to Ulgii town. On your way stop to see “Dear Stones” (rocks with face of human) or Bal-Bals and Mongolian Tuvan throat singer and start driving to Eagle Hunter’s family. ( If the Tuvan throat singer is at home) Meet Eagle Hunter and meet his fantastic bird. Chat with Eagle Hunter ask for any questions that you want to…. arrive in Ulgii. Have hot shower at your Hotel room. Dinner at one of local restaurant. During the dinner time you will be enjoying Kazakh traditional folk concert (live music).

6. DAY Fly to Ulaanbaatar After breakfast, fly back to Ulaanbaatar with unforgettable memories…
